Conservation Volunteer Internship Announcement

The Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club seeks proficient individuals who are passionate about the environment to assist with all aspects of the Chapter’s Conservation Program.

Internship Description: Based at the Angeles Chapter office on mid-Wilshire in Los Angeles, the Conservation Intern will work closely with staff and volunteers on environmental campaigns, media relations, public outreach and administrative projects. Job duration and hours are flexible and will be arranged individually. This is an unpaid internship, but we’d like to give you a chance to build skills and experience, get school credit, and/or excellent letters of recommendation. We look forward to working with you to create an internship that meets your needs as well as ours.
Desired skills/experience include:

• Excellent writing, organizational, and computer skills
• Ability to work independently
• Initiative, enthusiasm, and the desire to learn
• Excellent communication skills and an enjoyment of working with others
• Interest in environmental issues, a nonprofit setting and/or grassroots activism
• Aptitude for creative problem solving and strategic thinking
